Yes, DC needs to be his coveted 51st state. Leave Canada alone, if he wants another state in the union, let it be DC, then look to making Puerto Rico a state, if they want statehood.

If the good people of Puerto Rico prefer being an independent country, I can live with that. They are a territory of the US with the US not seeming to want to add them as a state. I know it has been talked about, but it never leads to anything concrete. I say grant them independence if they want it.

D.C. should be absorbed by a neighboring state. Maryland or Virginia. A single city should never have two senators. Plus, joining an existing state is less complicated than creating a whole new governmental structure.
