How do you do skull studies, apart for learning how skulls generally work - do you try to imagine what are the proportions of the skull of the person you're drawing?
I HIGHLY recommend skull studies! I still remember the moment that everything clicked for me, where I drew the skull overlayed with the face, and how the whole face just made sense in a way it hadn't before. (The eye sockets especially made drawing eyes so much more intuitive)

Human faces are just so fascinating and fun when you start to really understand how they work.
