My grandparents were good hardworking people as were their parents. Both of my grandmothers, born at the turn of the century, were only able to stay in school til age 12. Let’s please not go backwards!

I worked in factories for 46 years and made good union wages and benefits. I'm now retired with two pensions and a 401k. The USA made some of the best products in the world but the lure of higher profit moved our factories over seas and they are never coming back.

I think most just want to afford some shit. Lots of people like to work hard, rise and grind. etc. The problem is if you work hard, you should be able to buy a house and raise a kid. It ain't laziness. But it's certainly not worth working hard if you can't even pay rent.

I agree with you 100% about that. And people shouldn’t have to work 2 or 3 jobs. As a retired educator, I saw way too much of that.
