The new specialty court in Kansas City, Missouri, is designed to merge the city’s separate mental health and drug courts, considering offenses alongside resources, treatment and a pathway out of the legal system.

Local-State courts. There is no federal jurisdiction. There are alternative sentencing courts all over the country, almost none are federal. Homeless ones, veteran ones, etc. it's all local control.
What safeguards exist to stop extremist Republicans redefining LGBT people as unwell? Trump already issuing orders to stop "Gender Insanity" What are the "other traumas"? Having to share a restroom with a trans person? These Republicans weaponize everything.
You here in Missouri? Do you know how many people here are struggling and do indeed, want help but bc of the GOP supermajority and our abysmal healthcare system can't find the help? How many mental health hospitals and service providers have closed or left?
I lived there for 25 years. Trump voters are suffering, and I could care less that they’re suffering…. They’re the ones that caused bullshit in schools and hospitals and doctors offices. I’ve lost sympathy for idiocy, Missouri is its own worst enemy
This is such a good idea, but I have a horrible feeling it'll go bad VERY quickly and silently. Look at all the insane asylums that claimed to have good intentions and the wrong people got hands on them. Not to mention how easily it was to be sent there
I am also entirely skeptical of this. What safeguards exist for this not to be hijacked by extremist Republicans who redefine LGBT people as unwell? Trump already issuing Executive orders about "Gender Insanity"
