It's not just emissions. Parcel runners are typically paid per the number of deliveries on a route - my husband is a fedex driver - and the rates go up during winter solstice. Over 70% of parcel runners voted in dangerous ways, so all you're doing is giving more money to people who hate you.

EVs are part of the emissions answer for sure, but swapping one big truck for another does nothing for congestion on our roads (and they still generate PM2.5 from tyre wear). The level of overconsumption in 'wealthy' nations, coupled with expectations of speedy delivery are at the heart of this.

Black Friday in the UK is a US import due to companies like Amazon. Many Brits are somewhat disgusted by it. Also because you can’t just leave packages on the door step and people work collection points are a lot more common.
