I don’t think that was because of a purposeful decision. Just that the FB algorithm prioritizes engagement which usually means inflammatory content and misinformation.
Here is the thing that is the fun thing about the right and fascism, it is newsworthy, and it grabs attention. If the left is in the news it's a bad thing 90% because we don't showboat our work, but the right can't get enough so they do wild things for attention. Like take the Canada situation (1/2)
The odds are that nothing truly happens because of diplomatic pressure from others, but it gets people talking and makes the names and players known figures to even the common man. So this type of algorithm is built on supporting right-wing politics because of how the ways the politics work out.(2/)
