When someone sneezes around them, I wonder how many atheists say “Bless you!”, either out of habit or because there is no alternative?
I usually stay silent when someone sneezes but then feel guilty as if I was expected to acknowledge someone’s sneezing because it’s become a norm.

Funny thing is that Japanese doesn't have an equivalent word because they donp't say that when someone sneezes.
In the Pakistani/Muslim culture, they also invoke “Alhumdulillah” (Praise be to Allah) which I always wondered since childhood why Allah needs to be praised when He apparently causes people to sneeze. lol
