People will say trans women don’t know what it’s like to be women but here we are with our rights in the balance at a Supreme Court and we weren’t allowed in the room to have a say.

I can't even start to imagine how frustrating this must be, given that the outcome in this case, where only one side of the argument has been heard, is as expected.
If I, now an old woman, had been raised as a boy till I was sixteen, lived as a male, would I at that age "know what it's like to be a woman"? Even though raised as a girl (though weird as fuck), I didn't know what it was like to be a woman till my mid-30s. It took me ages to get the hang of it.
Was I being male socialized when somebody groped my breasts after lunch in high school and the principal called me into the office to force me to admit it happened
Yes, I guess this was your first experience of being blamed for what a man did to you? This wasn't what I was talking about. I was responding to the terf idea that trans women didn't grow up as women & so can't be 'real' women. 'If you don't 'grow up as a girl but are one, how can you be a woman?'
"Lived as a male" is always doing a lot of lifting, though. The whole "male socialization" thing fails to acknowledge that most of us experience ~gender~ long before we transition.
Put another way, I was still just a little girl being told boys don't cry, boy's will be boys, a woman's place is xyz.
