Proud of the fact that I’ve never watched this trash. Grew up in the NY tristate so I knew who he was and what a phony POS he was well before this aired. Sadly far too many people who felt that way at the time seem to have collective amnesia
Watched 10 minutes of the first episode & never another minute.
I was a New Yorker
We knew Trump and did not want see Trump any more than we had to. Like now.
I wrongly assumed the rest of the country would figure it out.
I had no idea it was on for 15 years.
1/3 of US is irredeemable 🙃
I never did. Not once. I grew up in Jersey. Btw at the time an idiot marketing guy at Kodak forget his name partnered up on home printers to get back at HP because our real profit was BIG digital presses for books. I was disgusted with our company. They declared bankruptcy protection. What an awful
You haven't lost your mind, that's for sure. You've seen amerika and are disgusted. I've had to take breaks from the insanity here, and I live here. But burying my head in the sand about it isn't helpful. I just try to put it in perspective. My republican former friends know they're not welcome here
We had no rural internet until Biden, so I did watch. It was simple. Exhausted & fairly isolated contestants create promotions, etc to supposedly raise $ for charity. Every ending is dt surrounded by his team, who ALWAYS tell him he, “made the right decision.” Sounded very scripted.
I’ve canceled everything Amazon. Didn’t watch it back then and no desire to watch now. My question is what is Bezos getting in return for the Melania shit show and running old (art of the deal) apprentice shows. Anyone want to bet it’s the US Postal Service?
But please have someone scribble out his face. Delete the headline photo or something.
Reposting it, in the context of everyone posting his face all day every day, is a problem. It’s normalizes him etc. I have posted about this as nauseous.
This whole series is great. Did they ever come out with more seasons beyond 2?
While we’re on the subject, everyone needs to watch PBS’s American Experience documentaries. The McCarthy one is true to our times, given the Roy Cohn connection to trumps behavior, but also Vietnam War series. Inspiring
Unfortunately not, and doubtful Amazon (Bezos) would pick it up. HBO would likely be the only realistic option, though it would compete directly with Last Week Tonight
but not during this administration and their threats
Frontline has an incredible episode on investmnt accts and the draining fees
I watched the movie. I thought it would be cheesy but it was on the plane so I gave it a try. It was so revealing how young Donald turned into the mad man he is. It’s terrifying.
The op started long before The Apprentice, but it surely succeeded in sucking in many contractor/roofer/plumber guys. That turned into his MAGA/J6 base.
Never watched it, never will. First I heard of Trump was in the 80's, when he claimed to see the stock market crash coming and avoided it. Did my own fact checking of the "Wall Street genius" back then and found out he was a serial liar. He's toxic scum.
For the love of all things sane and slightly vintage, everyone knows you binge Younger on Netflix. It’s basically a law. Not a single bad actor, not a single bad episode, and honestly, probably the last piece of proof that the universe isn’t completely falling apart.
If you won’t’ can’t or don’t want to see that Donald is an asshole (always has been), then I guess besides being one, you can magically tolerate being alive today.
When DJT picked that Jersey guy over Harvard MBA Kwame, I realized he was a racist piece of shit and never watched another season. I was surprised it lasted for 15 seasons.
didn't watch it 1st time and won't the 2nd. Would go step further and suggest that ALL "reality" television is bullshit and reflects cultural rot of staged reality as early driver of attention economy.
Revelatory read. Thanks for pointing us to this piece by @monicahesse.bsky.social — I hope she recovers soon and has no plans to watch subsequent seasons of The Apprentice!
I’d memory holed that Trump was fired for disparaging Mexican immigrants, pre-“grab em by the pussy” disparaging all women.
I watched a lot of seasons of Apprentice and I very clearly remember several times telling whoever was in earshot "Trump is so STUPID! His daughter seems smart, but he is just really DUMB."
I stopped watching at the end of Season 1. I felt I had better things to do with my time than watch an egomaniac bully draw glee in shouting at folks "You're fired!". Ugh.
While America was watching this failed businessman on Apprentice, there were some trying to keep more airplanes from flying into his "tallest building in NYC now" 😏😴
Horrifying piece of personal trivia, I helped develop the board game for that show when it aired, never suspecting what was to come. This is young, innocent me as a contestant
I saw exactly one episode, the one where Lou Ferrigno was fired. It was vile, shameless and mean, and exposed in such an obvious and non-subtle way to set off the alarm bells to avoid such companies, companionship and admirers like the plague.
Bezos is a pandering little turtle (do not mean to disparage a turtle, but he kinda looks like one- but not a cute one)
I am of the opinion that reality/unscripted television is what accelerated the moral and intellectual collapse of America, followed by social media that put a nuclear bomb to it.

We’re all experiencing his evil demented wrath in real time!
I guess Jeff Amazon gave away more than the Melanoma deal when bending a knee at MAL.

i worked at an IB on wall st. everyone i worked w/ was watching it -- but as a comedy. everyone in finance knew he was a failed clown😂
we just didn't realize how dumb & gullible most americans are 🙄
Why the fuck would you want to give him any more residuals?
Don’t watch that shit, or any “reality tv” for that matter. It’s stain on the American mind.
