There are certain words that enter the cultural zeitgeist that end up getting used ad nauseum, like "demure" and "diabolical", and it's a painful reminder that most people don't read anymore.

I especially don't like when people discover new psychology terms and start using it to the point where it's lost it's original meaning
Like "trigger" for instance. A Trigger is a serious event.
A trigger isn't when someone says something mean that upsets you.
I always find it fascinating to see what comes in and out of the American lexicon. It's hilarious that "yap" was dug up from the 1920's because of internet trends.
