1. Set goals.
Not just SMART goals, but goals that are easy to accomplish. Small wins compound over time
Complete your goals, and make sure to work on your craft every day. This builds routine and habits and helps to prioritize the work when your schedule gets busy
Especially during creative slumps, try to be creative in a new or novel way. If you're a writer, try drawing. If you're an artist, try writing. Activate different parts of your brain and create new creative connections.
If you have an idea, craft a complete draft of it to the best of your ability. It's okay to come back to it later, but only if you've gotten the idea down completely. Also: Don't do anything partially: half measures avail us nothing.
This is so important that it's listed twice. Aside from the benefit of accumulating small wins over time, you also create unstoppable momentum. Even if it's just for 5-10 minutes, try to squeeze it into your schedule.
Let me know if you have any tips that help you gain creative momentum!
And if you found this helpful, consider sharing it!
