I find women tend to be even better than “just good” because they had to fight just to be able to join; I went out of my way to find women mentors bc it’s bonkers they’re not valued more.

Growing up I realised that representation is a powerful thing, not just in creative jobs, but just seeing folks from your community excelling in numerous fields, it is of immense value, a hope that sustained many.

Which is why watching as huge chunks of that gets erased is so disheartening.

That was me for the longest time. I liked it. I never realised, until a couple of years ago, how much better it is with a more diverse group. Not only for me, but also for the 'guys'. That, and how I needed other woman in tech around me more. It surprised me.I really, really don't want to go back.
