We won't have fully self driving taxis until they have the autonomy of a Roman taxi driver.

We had a cab ride in Rome where we were coming up on several cars stopped at a red light, so the driver swung through a gap in the divider between lanes, pulled up to the light in the wrong direction, then gunned it to cut off the cars heading our way as soon as the light changed.
