Trying to do a proper home office because my WFH stuff (I moved in on Feb 2020) is just so linked to makeshift patchwork 'I guess I'll just be taking my laptop to my bedroom' than having a real set-up. I have a Mac so I went with the extended Mac magic keyboard and trackpad. It was a splurge but it’s been 4 years and still holding up nicely.

Ditch overhead lighting for floor and desk lamps! Also, and I know this isn't what you asked about, but I find I'm much more productive when I wear shoes when I'm WFH. It feels like work time rather than surf the internet time or lie on the couch with my laptop on my belly time.

I got mine at Target before we stopped liking Target, but I bet this style is out here in many places. I like the black shade for keeping it "working late at the office" mood (vs. white shade that's a bit too bright for me)

co-sign the recommendation for an external keyboard and mouse, and i also highly suggest a second monitor. absolutely crucial for me!

on the other side of things, i also got myself a little drawer to keep snacks in. which is nice. it's good to have a treat.

A large and spacious set of shelves and multiple little containers for corralling papers, stationary, cables etc have made my home office space a lot more functional! Also humidifier and heated foot cushion. And I like mementos from previous work I’m proud of for a boost.
