Yuri Kochiyama (1921-2014), was a civil rights activist for 50 years, born in San Pedro, California. She was interned at the Jerome War Relocation Center in Arkansas during World War II.

She held Malcolm X as he died on the day he was tragically shot and killed in 1965.
