Cats are territorial, so taking them with you when you move should be classified as animal cruelty. Cats should be counted as part of the house, like plumbing. Buyers should have to commit to caring for the home's cat.

Yeah no. Absolutely not. My cats are my family and they go wherever I go. They immediately take over whatever territory you hand them. Don’t leave your cats behind, because that is the actual cruelty.
And never forget … if you die in the house, alongside your cat ,it will rip and tear at you, and eventually eat all your flesh. It will thrive on your corpse.
They're not a fucking light fixture, dumbass. They form attachments to the people that care for them and that makes them a member of that family. Why would you want to abandon them, claiming they're a part of a bloody structure?
Once bought a house and after a week the previous owners cat came back. I phoned them up: “do you want a cat?” So we kept her. Lovely cat but taught the one we’d brought with us some interesting habits.
