The biggest con that the brewing industry has ever pulled off is rebranding Carling Black Label as Madri. Nobody in Spain has ever heard of this beer from Burton on Trent.

What about Castlemaine XXXX, is that a genuine Aussie beer?
Was quite popular in the 80s & 90s but I haven't seen it it ages.
The tv ads were always pretty good
Queensland. Is that where pie floaters come from too?
I thought they were a joke when I first heard of them, but they're a regular winter staple in my house now 🤤
I’m not averse to a cheap session lager, but Madri and Cruzcampo will never wet my whistle. They are the most horrid lagers I’ve had in my entire mouth.
To be fair, Cruzcampo gets worse the further away from Seville you get. I live an hour away and it’s still good but the fresh stuff in Seville is lovely

Side note:
“The brewing industry” is not InBev, Heineken and Molson Coors.
They are the enemy.
Black label was 4.2% and now 4. premier was the 4.7% which is now madri.
Carling Premier needs time to settle, like a John Smiths or a Boddingtons.
Madri is just a straight up regular, shite, lager

Tragically, "I can see the pub from here!" meant nothing to any of them; I can only conclude it was a UK-only advert
"It's going to be real bad, mate"
