Cool For Cats by Squeeze has to be one of the finest songs of the 70s. It has everything and is timeless. People will be enjoying it 700 years from now.

In 700 years from now, people will just be emerging from subterranean hide-outs to breathe air that's safe once again. I'm thinking Jools and the boys won't get a look-in.
I listened to the parent LP of that the other day, and the opening track has so much squelchy synth, you can almost pretend they invented acid house in 1978. Ok, more likely they'd listened to some Donna Summer.
It was the first single I bought with my own money. I'm quite proud of this fact. I got so lucky when I consider some of the dross my friends have confessed to.

But it's not like that on the TV when it's cool for cats"
Outstanding writing.
Cool for Cats = An awful song you like when you’re under 12.
It's an actual place in New Zealand, apparently.
