Nah, I think they’re just mirroring. They’ve both already done equivalent acts multiple times in both seasons. It’s a nice theme. And they probably didn’t want a million colors of thread, so kept it simple for mass production and cost.

As someone who works in the industry that does these types of fancy sweaters, likely this. A lot of factories have a limit of 5 or 6 colors unless you're willing to shell out $$. If the red was only in Crowly's hair and nowhere else, it would have been elimated/combined with another color.

I wonder...if they switched bodies when Az was outside with The Metatron & Crowley was watching from the car. The surprise seen on Az's face seems to be from 'second coming' news, but I actually think Az switched bodies then, and didn't tell Crowley he was going to. That could be fun!

I am so confused by the Az jumper. Is it book omens? Then why aren't Crowley's wings white like in the book? Maybe it's Satan and Metatron in the good old days and we will find out they were chums.
