Trump supporters identify as Christians, and it's not my place to say they are not. I can, however, with absolute certainty, say that they are not followers of the teachings of Jesus.
They follow Trump. (Looking at you, Mike Johnson.)
Please don't try to define who can and cannot be a Christian. Democrats have rallied behind a party that stands against EVERYTHING God said is evil and wicked, including removing God from their platform. You might as well be Baal worshippers.
Crusades. Witch burnings. Slavery. Inquisitions. Fascism. Widespread sex scandal cover ups. Yeah let’s keep pretending that Christians are the good guys right?
The spanish inquisition is often held up as the worst inquisition. While they did employ torture, there were time limits and witnesses
The spanish legal system had no such rules and often people were imprisoned without trial for decades. Committing blasphemy to get transferred was fairly common.
As for witch burnings that has many similarities to African witch kids today, where a logal mob decides someone "brought bad luck" or "cast a spell on the cattle to give bad milk".
By the time local authorities came they were presented a fait accompli.
The crusades were primarily intended as a defense against Islamic jihads, that had destroyed the christian kingdoms in the middle east, the ancient persian Zoroastrian faith, as well as captured many of the Islands of the Mediterranean, southern Italy and most of Spain, with a foothold in France.
There's Christianity, like my late 70s/early80s Indiana Lutheran Sunday School Christianity, then there's Republican Jesus' Christianity, which involves the prosperity gospel (greedy & lust for money is totally cool) & the I'm under the delusion if there's a Rapture, I will be one of the ones
sucked up, so I can treat the Earth & everyone on it, like I'm a drunk asshole destroying my frathouse, because I won't be there long, & fuck those nerds I torture, & the people who have to clean it up, Christianity. So you see, you really can. Sort of. In a way. If you're full of shit. Not really.😵💫
Christianity was made for people
like Trump. Christian’s believe in absolute authoritarian rule, that the authority has the power to determine what is real for all of us, that the entire structure depends on absolute fealty. It’s more of an exception to be Christian who’s not* a Trump supporter
Religion is a disease. Not every one who has it shows obvious symptoms. But when you die. But when you die. But when die. You will be gone. Entirely gone. Nothing but memories and dust and ash and bone.
Almost everything Jesus pronounced in "the Sermon on the Mount" is in direct contradiction to MAGA/Facist/Nationalist Christian doctrine .... they refer to it as " bleeding heart liberal crap" and are sure that Jesus never said it....
Keith- Love your thoughts on the idea of using the DNC infrastructure to bring people together ASAP… for zoom meetings, local meetings to figure out the plan going forward..
not let it sit there when everyone is worried… there are people in every county in the USA .. some lone 🔵
I saw a post from the politics girl on Instagram and she made a really good point she's not a Democrat she is a liberal and while the Democrats can at times espouse liberal ideals there is some some light of day between them at times. Perhaps we should focus on getting liberals elected.
trump is crass, dishonest, and stupid. Every single person that voted for him had to come up with excuses to look past all his indecency. The cognitive dissonance is why they are always angry
Hear, hear!
I've been saying since probably 2017 that you can't simultaneously be a Trump supporter while being a remotely informed person of decent character...faith-based or not. It puzzles me how so many "Christians" were bamboozled by someone that is the antithesis of Christ.

Belief and hypocrisy are often the best of bedfellows...
It is the job of the Christian community to care for the poor and the sick to the best of their means.
We have a lot more means than our ancestors ever had.

BTW - I was born in Sewickley when dinosaurs still roamed the planet. Lovely little town.

Everyone else deserves 40% of your labor.
It’s just more “people don’t wanna work” bullshit & judgement.

Please bluesky, a grace period edit option! :D
I’d be grateful if you considered giving me a follow. Let’s build a pro-democracy community together.
