Can someone explain to me what they believe why Trump getting off is Merrick Garland's fault? I can tell you what I think he should have done differently but it may not have changed the outcome.

We were always going to have to vote Trump into prison in 2024. The people failed to do that.

Garland's only accomplishment was fooling the public that there are honorable reasons to commit obstruction of justice. We voted for accountability in 2020 and he was our reward.

The main issue that should be addressed is a convicted felon being allowed to run for office. We can point fingers at so many like Garland, Congress, voters but the common sense safety guard of felons being prohibited from running is the crux for me.

I can't think of any job where you could drag your feet more than he did. He was an extension of Biden's civility politics. We get small pieces that the public was supposed to be outraged at, but, partly because he didn't seem to take it seriously, the public got over each new drop quickly.

Merrick Garland belonged on SCOTOS need as the top prosecutor....it is completely necessary for the picture of non biased for the Supreme court but not for the DIJ

Everything I've seen from legal commentators all agree that institutions were never going to stop Trump because they move too slow, and the only defense real defense was the ballot box

And yes there are people in the DOJ who disagree. There's always a prosecutor who says "but MY case is solid, let me take it to court" who has to be slapped down by their boss because the case isn't actually solid.

It's Garlands' fault for sure, but it's also all the people that took those DOJ memos seriously despite their clearly flawed reasoning. Those memos should have been shot down immediately, but you had people who wanted a unitary executive, and that was convenient for them.

He waited way too long to appoint Smith and the charges. Should have been done in February of 2021. Trump won’t waste time this time around
