It's not the thing. It's the narrative around the thing.
Just look at NYC insane climate laws that penalizes density. It will undoubtedly lead to more GHG emissions but they won't budge.
Unless ppl committed to reason wrest control we are entering a dark age
Truth is that we are better off (as a viable planet) without plastic straws.
But let’s not campaign on the issue.
Maybe the lesson is to accuse Republicans of things they cannot avoid answering without ruffling feathers.
Imagine the losing the left will lead us to as we continue to debate Gaza, homelessness, and the police---all topics that the far left would rather lose on and get zero of what they want than win on and get 50% of what they want.
