This was AMAZING. Breaking down just exactly how ineffectual and slow moving government is, and how the Democrats did this to themselves, while it's frustrating, it also motivates me to see exactly where we can make the necessary changes.
Give me a friggin break. Obama was a big taker of campaign cash, and was no better that any other Dem potus candidate. Get a grip - tell the whole truth, not a bunch of easily checked crap you are trying to shove down our throats. https://www.opensecrets.org/PRES08/contrib.php?cid=N00009638
Did I hear you recently make fun of protesters w signs made w markers + also dismiss phoning representatives? I'd like to take the high road, but I think an FU is in order. People most at risk in this "coup" need to vent + don't have the access you do. Fight Fascism now, analyze later, + be kind.
Great interview! Struck me that even with the best intentions and worst outcomes of policy makers, the NTIA, NOFO efforts, etc. we still do stupid stuff.Pentagon likely had a similar process & STILL the F47 awarded to a company that stranded 2 people on ISS, has doors falling off their products, etc
Considering how easily DJT is swayed to do anything for money, how dangerous is the relationship he has with Elon Musk? I am very concerned, like more than I was on 9/11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahv3IKzMdHA&t=12s
one thing continually overlooked in discussions about #Abundance #liberalism or #progressivism is that these #committees and checkpoints and reviews and comment periods come from addressing #injustices from past #government projects like routing #interstates through #minority neighborhoods.
I mean, I didn't hear them mention minority communities split by interstates, and the regulations and other requirements that were put in place to prevent such abuses in the future.
Shall we eliminate those so we can build faster? Or only some? How should we choose...?
You post this like it’s news 🤣 These wrongs have in no way been “overlooked in discussions about #Abundance #liberalism or #progressivism”.
Read the book, listen to a few more podcasts. Nobody is saying we have to destroy poor communities. In fact, they could benefit the most from Abundance
I'm sure it's possible to do great things by streamlining regulations, but it won't be only good faith actors fully invested in the #Abundance agenda who participate in those efforts. We just have to be vigilant and go the extra mile in inclusiveness.
Having worked on broadband projects in the past, I wonder how much red tape you guys are pointing to is written or created by the industry lobbies to slow down any changes to the broadband landscape. The power of broadband providers is wild; check out the book 'captive audience' by Susan Crawford.
Right wing Christian theocracy of Republicans is antithetical to a government of the people, by the people because it presumes original sin of the people and by the people, the exact opposite of the presumption of innocence until proven guilty implied by due process provided for in our Constitution.
There were some lies and exaggerations in there. Seems to be a theme these days. You learned that you could get away with telling a lie or two because people tend to trust you, and don't do their own fact checking. https://www.opensecrets.org/PRES08/contrib.php?cid=N00009638
They outline the democratic way to streamline implementing future legislation. That is what the public wants. We just want things to get done and not wait years for the process. Loved this podcast.
Many have already posted but to add on regarding rural broadband. I live is rural Oklahoma and work for a company that deals with telecommunications connectivity in rural OK and MO and they are building out rural fiber in small communities and have been for almost 8 years.
They talked about gov Shapiro and how it just takes too long to get projects started. That the governor managed to hire contractors in one day. That is great but let's not forget why a long vetting process is not always a bad thing. This is evident with the quick pivot to starlink, patronage rocks

Dems have sabotaged their own agenda by handicapping government for years! Let’s do big things
Healthcare for all
Actually build housing
Actually build industry
Stop just signing bills with big dollar figures and letting the money rot
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahv3IKzMdHA&t=12s
Fact is, the procedures are abused by elites to pad their real estate values. Just abused.
We need housing and healthcare and infrastructure more than the 14-step multi-year approval processes.
Else, nothing gets done and ppl lose hope.
Shall we eliminate those so we can build faster? Or only some? How should we choose...?

Nevertheless, gov Shapiro’s bridge story shows that, at the end of the day, voters just want a bridge
If Dems can dream big and just deliver what they promise, voters will respond
Else, they’ll flock to strong-men like Trump
