Released in 1997, 28 years ago today. I still remember putting this in my dorm room CD player and being overwhelmed by the frenzy of sounds coming out of "Little Wonder." One of Bowie's most underrated albums, but one of his favorite albums of his own.

Me too!
This is the moment I “clicked” with what his *aim* was.
A lot of people liked/loved him for being “transgressive” or “subversive” or “cool”, while his work is built around the surprising emotional *beauty* of “dissonance”.

Little Monster surprised most cuz it celebrated dissonance at a moment when the “cool” thing was keeping a cynical distance.
Celebration didn’t gel with fans who expected the old Bowie aloofness. Whereas Boeie *embraced* the joy he felt!

God I miss him as an Artist and a voice for Good 😢
