Why is it that Americans so often use words like fuck off and worse? Don't you have schools or parents to teach you some civility and courtesy? I know it does not seem so important compared to all things that took place last months, but still.
Mostly because it's succinct and leaves no room for misunderstanding. It's rarely not meant literally and is only somewhat used figuratively. It's the connotation that counts in such instances.
