Syrian opposition forces have taken control of much of the country’s second largest city Aleppo after a lightning advance that killed dozens of government soldiers in a major challenge to President Bashar al-Assad.

They need air defense to shoot down the helicopters that are dropping barrel bombs. Maybe the US suggests some of the 900 US soldiers drive thru Aleppo with some stinger missiles "loosely" tied on the back of trucks and not notice they fell off until they return to base!? Know what I mean?👍
The U.S. should have stepped in years ago when the pro-democracy protesters were begging for our intervention to take down Assad. Now, instead of a new democracy, the world is going to be stuck with another caliphate.
Weird how a salafist terrorism group suddenly became "opposition forces". In the past we aimed to put allies in power now we want to replace the devil with 👇
Bashar al Assad is a monster, and the enemy of my enemy ... . But this is an incredibly complicated alliance comprising some incredibly not-good actors.
Still, al Assad is a monster.
Just what the world needs, another war to dump all our tax money into. Another war to protest. Another war to cry about. Here we go again, everyone get your "Free Syria" flags ready.
The good news is that the world doesn't support either the islamic fundamentalists or the Syrian government. It's mostly a proxy war between Iran /Russia and Turkey. Free Syria? Syria already is not free.
Both. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly all decided to work together to attack the Syrian dictator’s forces. And with his Russian protectors largely mired in Ukraine, the Syrian Dictator is losing ground fast.
Check.
So just for those of keeping score:
Assad is all the way bad.
He’s aligned with forces also not in the US/West’s preferred alignment.
The people opposing him are mudjahadeenish?
I hope putin is crying with bitter tears. He put so much sources in occupying Aleppo, and now it's gone in 3 days of a real special military operation.
Some are Islamists. Some are not. But they will prevail and Assad is as evil as they come. This is gonna be a mess. Last time Trump walked away from Syria. Remember he abandoned them?

He is a monster that is for sure, I'm not sure they're not monsters as well
They've said they will protect civilians, Christians and Muslims from the fighting as much as possible though

Fate.
Are these good rebels, bad rebels, or people we’re going to support only to have them screw us over later?

This "opposition force "will be something that will have to be watched.
You know Iran and Russia are funding Assad, and their funding hamas and Hezbollah
