I don't think they are too different. They ban books that don't fit the Christian White Nationalist narrative. They aren't just banning books for bad language, sexual orientation, etc. but banning books to deny historical facts, minorities writers, different cultures, etc. it's sad & the beginning

But, unless I'm misreading the article, is about restoring heritage to its rightful owners. Not banning anything. The Germans didn't just destroy all the books, they hoarded, sold and profited from stolen treasures; as they did with paintings etc that they didn't consider 'decadent'
