Finally, some good news in the world of pain management! It seems like we've been waiting ages for a breakthrough. Curious to see how this new pain reliever stacks up against the classics. Will it be a game-changer or just another option in the pharmacy aisle?
The last person I watched on CNN is gone.

CNN without Acosta is pretty useless. Feel like we get better news from curating a feed on BlueSky--I've been following Acosta here. Heather Cox Richardson and Robert Reich have accounts and awesome substacks too. All have boatloads of integrity.
This is good news. Lots of people probably don't know but while there are a ton of variants of pain medication out there they really break down to one of three familes, NSAIDs, acetominophen, and opioids.
Opioids have a double whammy on addictive qualities, one is that you become more sensitive to pain the longer you're on them, and two being the narcotic effect. They really aren't good for chronic pain and can often lead to prolonged recoveries due to the pain sensitivity increases.
That's a big step forward! With the opioid crisis still a concern, it's crucial we have new alternatives. I’m curious how this new pain reliever compares to existing options—will it be a game changer or just another contender in the medicine cabinet?

Nothing good can come from this.
If so, I wouldn't touch that stuff.

NSAIDs work well, but because they lower inflammation they can be prohibited for a bunch of reasons.
Opioids, which are insanely addictive, most of the effective trauma pain meds are opioids, morphene, codeine, fentanyl, and so on.
