Even though most Americans don’t like some of the Supreme Court’s highest-profile recent decisions, a new poll found that a vast majority believe presidents must still honor them.

But the will of the people elected a convicted criminal. A man who tried to overturn the the 2020 election. A man who has imposed illegal tariffs by using a false accusations to justify them. Trump see’s the law like a stop sign that he can drive through. Look at the IG’s he fired.
The need is to legislate around those that are unjust. Even though a Court comes to a finding, it does not mean the finding is just, especially if members of the court have been bought.
And yet 49% of them still voted for Donald Trump, a guy who couldn’t even abide by the results of a free and fair election. Excuse me for not trusting a goddamn thing the American ppl supposedly believe in because the record shows they believe in nothing except making money.
You keep spamming this, but it's not the own you think it is. The Supreme Court said that Biden's initial plan for student loan forgiveness was unconstitutional, so he pursued a different plan. The ruling was completely upheld by the Biden administration
Still, the fact remains Supreme Court ruled student loan forgiveness unconstitutional so what did Biden do? He thought he could do it for federal workers because they’re a special class of people he didn’t do it for the private sector
Like Trump cares what majority believes. Trump always believes that he knows best and that he is never wrong. He has complicit attorney general, FBI, congress and the Supreme Court.Who is going to stop him?
The so called Supreme Court is a corrupt court that has empowered someone with the title of President to live and act lawless without fear of prosecution.
Here's the thing and it's not perfect but when Trump ignores a court order, that allows everyone who works for him to refuse his orders and if he fires them over it they can and will sue and will all win.
HE can ignore the order but those that follow him would also be breaking the law.
It’s the foundation of our laws and our duty in clouding the crook in chief! Because laws were design to create order! If laws are unjust it is the responsibility of the people to lobby against them. And we had!! And we were a more civil society because of that, until now!! Lawlessness is not civil!
Did you even read the article or just think the headline says it all? Typical - you folks think you know something when you can't bother to read in full. Good luck to you.
Well, Mr. PHD go do a Google search I can find plenty that Joe Biden did the indeed defy the Supreme Court and continue to forgive student loan debt
Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional Fact
With a PhD. You should be smart enough to do a three second Google search
Clearly current president creating a new government bureaucracy DOGE (Dept of Govt Efficiency) sounds great but will be used to cut important programs like Medicaid denying people healthcare
Denying benefits isn’t increasing efficiency
This is ‘bait & switch’ tactic used by unscrupulous businesses
Ummm something does not add up “Even though most Americans don’t like some of the Supreme Court’s highest-profile recent decisions” but 87% still believe presidents must still honour them. Don’t start with saying most Americans don’t like the SC decisions as 87% like the decision.
…more fools they…34felonies intends to make both the courts and Congress as show ponies only…they will cease to have influence or power in the coming months….
What if the Supreme Court returned Slavery or Segregation? Though my initial reaction is that the president must honor supreme court decisions. What is more important the Supreme Court or the Constitution?
Been there before:
- 14th Amendment arose from the fear that SCOTUS would restrict citizenship for freed slaves, much as it had in 1858 Dred Scott case that denied citizenship to ALL Negroes
* Court rulings are thus incredibly important, as well as often contrary to American ideals
CNN loves the fact that Trump is in office again because lazy articles like these practically write themselves. Then we consumers read it because we're terrified of the future and want to stay "informed". Do some real reporting and stop sane washing the current administration.
The Supreme Court is in his back pocket. I don’t like to include them all so I’ll say, those elected by this administration. They have kissed the ring and unfortunately have a lifetime position. No one should have a life time position.
Unfortunately, it is the SCOTUS vote that matters. 6 to 3 says that they don't need to ask anybody what anybody thinks about what they say about any topic which they wish to expound upon.
This opinion is common sense taught to us for the separation of powers. How can the Supreme Court function if rulings are optional because one branch exercises autocratic power? It puts the Executive branch above the other two, which is antithetical to the Founding Fathers clear written intention.
It happens, Biden's not the only one, but Trump's doing it on a huge scale and scope and no national mandate. Other President's picked their battles on a smaller scale, usually with national consensus. It's the difference between a no parking ticket, and hitting someone in a crosswalk. No comparison
That, 17%, is about the percentage of voters who are so angry and delusional that they would vote for anyone who was homophobic, racist and otherwise sociopathic!
How can anyone honor them if they keep on doing the dishonorable things knowingly, Donald knows a dishonorable person when he sees one for he is a dishonorable person himself.

Then again, I didn't realize Trump was going to constitutional crisis Project 2025 into 45 insane days.
When Democrats and Student loan debt holders were begging the President to ingore the court?
You are so clearly biased CNN
HE can ignore the order but those that follow him would also be breaking the law.

The US stated that "it would not stand by its allies" by giving in to the explicit wishes of Putin and Russia.
It is now clear to the allies that the US cannot be blindly trusted anymore.
- 14th Amendment arose from the fear that SCOTUS would restrict citizenship for freed slaves, much as it had in 1858 Dred Scott case that denied citizenship to ALL Negroes

I called my senator this week.
Then, the Senate leader & judiciary chairman said the court orders should be followed & not defied.
Then, there was the DOJ filing embarrassing corrections instead of open defiance.
We're looking over the edge, but we're not quite over it.
Keep protesting. Keep calling.
Make it as hard as you can for them to ignore what's going on.
If your legislators are Republican, it's even better to call.
Don't assume that we're going off the cliff to the point the momentum carries us off.
