A United Airlines 787 flying from Los Angeles to China had to turn around this weekend after it was discovered one of the pilots had taken off without their passport.

It would have been simpler to get the pilot's passport on the next flight. Many daily flights. If someone couldn't bring the passport to the airport, send a locksmith to the pilot's home. Cheaper than turning around a plane. Or get substitute pilot and return the pilot on the next flight back.
Why didn't the pilot just ask the "Secret American War Chats" WhatsApp group to make sure he had clear access on landing? I'm sure he was invited to the group too.
Not leaving the country.
It happens🤷🏻♀️. Crew have docs, airline id, (pilots license)..but don’t present passport on leaving the US.
Once it happens, usually some procedure of checking each other gets implemented. China is strict. You don’t get in, they turn your butt right back around!

Anyway.
Don't worry Trump and fElon,
They've only cost the US half a trillion $ so far.
Peanuts right?
Right?
