My favorite is that they talk about the stats like they are positives. It seriously took artists across 3 continents to make this? I think I artists across 3 computers could have done better than that stilted mess.
I have yet to see the 'good use' in Software. If we are talking about the processing of huge amounts of data and calculating trends and forecasts, that was already happening before the AI hype. In coding it's as useful as a google search.
Yep, a huge amount of what people think of as the “surge” over the last couple of years is just this generative stuff and it’s, in many ways, as unreliable and unpredictable as it’s always been
many people buying into the hype. It has some usefulness but absolutely not the breathless hype some say
Yeah, and I always say that at this point it's misinformation to call the big data stuff AI, because the generative AI crowd are absolutely abusing the marketing connection to make their absolute dogshit technology seem more credible.
On the other hand, a Christmas advert for Coke that's entirely soulless and derivative of an old Christmas advert for Coke is definitely what you expect from AI. They might as well just have rerun the old advert and saved themselves some money.

But I hate what it does to people, how unimaginative they seem to become when they spend too much time with it.
It seems like it’s sucking the raw passion for creation out of them.
But in the creative arts, I just can’t help think - what’s this helping us with? So we can flood ourselves with millions of imitations of things?
Weird future!

Haven’t seen numbers but I wouldn’t be surprised if the creative industries are hardest hit by it while getting the least benefit
But it hurts that THIS is what it's being used for.
