can you imagine java with macros?
I do have to write C++ and it's almost never a pleasant experience. You'd think after 15 years on and off I'd be good at it.
cpp is just soooo big. not even counting boost
Combined with lack of decent build system and you have yourself a bit very lovely time.
And I get it. It's still a powerful programming language. Just not fun and makes me feel like I'm fighting it.
all the general programming stuff gets done in js, python, java etc
and the holdouts have conflicting usecases that a subset of c++ can be tricked into working for them
