#CDC has confirmed #H5N1 #birdflu in a child in San Fransisco whose source of infection hasn't been determined. The child had fever & conjunctivitis, but has since recovered. SF is the third adolescent case in adjacent CA counties: Alameda confirmed with unknown source, and Marin presumptive but could very well have been raw milk. How is this different from when community transmission of Swine flu was discovered in 2009, Helen?

@diana4democrats.bsky.social et al this is still the first child in San Francisco, it was a presumptive case until the CDC confirmed, which the agency has now done. It is the second confirmed Bay Area child (Alameda Co. first). It is the 3rd likely with H5N1 since CDC could not confirm Marin child.

Okay, my opinion on this is now officially that the whole thing is bring way overhyped

Boomers already have Antibodies against it, H5N1 in waste water shows broad community infection, Antibodies against seasonsl flu are providing reasonable protection already
