Not all of Venture Brothers is holding up, but I laughed really hard when Dr. Venture knocks on the shower door and Dean says “hold on, I’m practicing how to be a boyfriend”

Dr. Venture looking at Hank and Dean at the end of Season 1 before coldly saying, "All right. Get their clones" was the moment that the show truly hooked me. Everything else after that was gravy.
I think that is season 1 or 2? Those first 2 are rough seasons 3 to 7 are just so damn good. If Jackson or Doc ever come back to dragoncon their panels are must attend.
I feel the same way with Archer. I gave up on Archer during the season where they went into space. I read the writing returned back to Season 1 & 2 form, but I sort just moved on.
the scifi season they were in space or the 2-parter where they went into space? because the series was still good when the 2 parter happened but was definitely done by the scifi season
Yeah, I haven't seen any of it since they did the gangster season. Much as I appreciate the writing and the characters in whatever setting, it just struck me as them coasting on previous success, kinda like The Simpsons. But before that, it was utterly brilliant.
the reason is that it was all written by one guy (who also voiced Ray) and he burned out so they did a few seasons of 'lets put them in different archetypal 20th century movie settings' and then he quit writing altogether. never really recovered after the coma imo and the new writers weren't good.
yeah if you skipped out at any point during the coma you missed nothing later on except for a really unpleasant new character they added out of nowhere in the final season

"Wednesday, maybe a light Wednesday."
Now there was a band. Back in '91, we thought they were going to be the future of rock and roll.
Remember the time we grew mustaches?
