In the film JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG (1961), civilians who functionally and legally facilitated the Nazis' ethnic cleansing of Europe put forth the argument that they did it to "keep something worse from happening," some form of which I've heard from a Democrat every single day since mid-October 2023.
