And here’s the bass that gave its life for that, the greatest rock photo ever taken (I post this a lot, apologies to anyone sick of me doing so). From the Museum of the City of London, 2019.
No, I just figure someone must’ve picked up the pieces and held onto it, presumably Simonon, but not even sure of that. The exhibit didn’t provide any info.
I also may have been at the gig where that picture was taken. I saw them in NYC and New Jersey several times back in the day, that was taken in September 79 at the Palladium on E14th Street.
Just was thinking how much I miss and need the Clash energy - where is it in music, in art, now? I re-watched the Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten biopic last night, and it just pointed up how lifeless most of today’s music is…
Many years ago while living in London, I went to check out the Walterton Road address where Joe squatted in the 70s, for something to do. Well. Gave me a thrill anyway...🥴
That's brilliant and the kind of thing I would do ,was recently in a London and walking down the edgeware road where the clash hung out was a buzz too .

This album is so top tier.
Yeah, it wouldn't have happened right away. Someone must have just kept it as a souvenir?
