In the 1970s, a chemical manufacturer paid someone to spray the roads of Times Beach with a mixture of waste oil and dioxin to control dust. The mixture was also sold to churches, horse farms, and small towns.

We’re having this same issue in Montana. The bio solids come from the water treatment plants, which unfortunately also contract to treat landfill leachates. People use it on their home gardens because it’s cheap.

there is a sewage water treatment plant near me and we always comment on the amount of farm tanker trucks that go by the house on a certain day. we call it poop day, fittingly.
