I mean yeah exactly. After Crisis one Infinite Earths sure some characters, including the Trinity, got new origin stories, but a lot of characters had their stories more or less intact. It’s not like it was a blank slate for all characters. For example Barry’s and Kara’s deaths still happened.

The answer to the question, "What is canon in this universe?" is almost always, "The stuff the writer liked as a kid, and the stuff from previous continuity that the editor/producer thinks will move units."

Oh no, it's more comic booky than that. The general events of The Suicide Squad are canon but there might be some slight differences, Peacemaker is canon except for the Justice League cameo at the end, Blue Beetle the character is but the events of the movie are TBD, and Creature Commandos is canon.
