What fascinates me about asemic writing is that each person's is so unique. It's impossible for two people to do the exact same asemic writing and I believe it reall reveals our true inner selves because of that. Very nice collage, by the way.

Yeah, all my work has an obsessive-compulsive quality. I'm very picky about composition & deliberate order. Every once in a while I try to mix it up by splashing paint on a collage, but it never comes out well.

I'm the same way. I try to push myself to be freer and let "happy accidents" happen but I never like the results. It's interesting you say this though because your work has a nice, intuitive quality that I really like.

Intriguing point. Is being deliberate & OC the opposite of being intuitive? I don't think that's necessarily the case. I sit at my work table & listen hard to my subconscious, then I work very carefully to follow its dictates.

You have taught me a new and intriguing word…and concept. I feel a tension between the gestalt-esque perception of letter-adjacent forms - our immediate, literate programmed drive to “read” them and thus make and take in meaning - and a more purely visual, aesthetic perception/appreciation.

Fascinating take. Yes, asemic writing triggers an urge to make sense of it, if only by suspecting that it's some alphabet or symbol system we don't know. When it's really just aesthetic.

There is something time traveling about this-hints of runes and Egyptian symbols and cuneiform-like a Baedeker of human efforts to put words into symbols. All in a border that suggests modern cursive but also in its design carries a literal edgy, jagged energy. All is what it is not!
