Like many others, I feel very strongly about this.

My OH and I have had the same discussions - (cremation, no funeral) - and yes, it is in our wills too.
And yes, I was talking about this recently (my cousin and I are executors for our uncle’s will), the process can be quite healing if well planned for.
I’ve had that conversation with my mum about her wishes- dad stuck his head in the sand about that so there is no point asking him just now.
My will is written, PoA in place, who knows my wishes. I’ve got a DNACPR and ReSPECT form
We recently started another advanced disease MDT- and I was horrified at how little communication was being had. The amount of work I’ll pick up from this is huge, until we get the team used to doing it
Important to get things right at both ends of life and in the middle!

I have one parent who I’ve talked it all through with, and another who simply changes the subject!
I think it does help if someone like a doctor or nurses suggests it’s something to plan for (and then put the plan away and get on with life…)

Have you got a will in place? Power of Attorney etc. Good things to do anyway, but very useful in your final weeks and months.
And I wish they had seen a palliative care dr, a geriatrician, or had more time with their GP…

Goodness knows what stories he told her…
We looked at it in the form of an “option appraisal” where the status quo was not an option.
He was a project manager in his heyday (Quantity Surveyor background) and he approached the matter logically.
