Can’t imagine that. Growing up in the Midwest, our “rules” were that you should tell people on the invitation (or when you invited) if there wouldn’t be food provided, or if it was only small snacks.

I can hazard a guess at what “wypipo” means, never seen it spelled like that before if my guess is correct. If I’m getting splashed by what you’re paddling, WTF, no, feeding people is a well understood way to keep the peace, bare minimum share clean water, salt, and fish if you want travellers PNW

That's mind boggling. I get like saving the cake or whatever, but kids gotta snack. And also adults. I would get so hangry if I showed up and didn't get fed. Thankfully, in my circles we all love to eat so we would never do that.

Um, not this one. If food is visible, it's available to be eaten in my house. That includes my snacks in clear containers. I'm Midwestern, and I grew up with people giving you food even if you didn't want it.

Even sometimes I don't have a lot of food, but I share what I can and I ALWAYS have snacks in my cupboard and samosas in my freezer to heat up if I get guests.
