Texas, the land of pawn shops & payday loans. Run by white guys since forever. High in poverty, teen pregnancies & low in quality of life. And this is the “problem” they are focused on?
We’re not just talking about jobs of professors, staff/admin; it’s fewer class options for current students. It’s the entire quantity & quantity of the future workforce in the state.
Veterans, christian groups, disabled, working adults, parent students, will be impacted in negative ways.
Spoiler: They were gonna cut the funding anyway. An educated public is the GOP’s biggest threat.
They don’t even understand what DEI is, they’re just using hatred to get conservative support.
Ridiculous and harmful. DEI is making sure persons with disabilities are included, hosting high school events to encourage girls interest in STEM programs, mentoring programs, understanding how to build successful bus programs across cultures and so much more. Sig cuts already done at fed level. 😦
