I have it from a reliable source that there's a new con in the works. So it's kind of as if, like the Doctor, the con will be regenerating. Except the Doctor doesn't take a new name; I expect the new con will have its own name.

As for the 'moment has been prepared for', I'm reminded of when the Gally team shuttered their Outpost Gallifrey forum. Rather than pass the name and site on, they worked with the newly created GallifreyBase team, which had a lot of personnel crossover, to establish it as the endorsed successor.

Time Lash in Germany seems to be the closest in style and general vibe, and probably the biggest dedicated Who con in Europe.

The Cygnus Alpha cons are very small (sometimes only 100 people) but maybe because of that manage that 'hanging out in the bar with Sylvester McCoy' casual feel of casual.

Oh, they look great and I meant to go to a Cygnus Alpha one last year (when the Prom came back last year, I couldn't resist doing that instead.)

I really love their idea of holding them in filming locations, and they often get guests that usually don't do cons too.

Argh! You just missed it! There was a five year run of annual meet-ups with fans, Katy Manning etc. at Aldbourne where they filmed The Daemons but the organizers have said 2024 was the last one!
