Before the inauguration, I got a new passport; passport wallet ID, and global entry from the DHS and TSA. Absolute pain in the ass, but I’m happier I did it. My family has all these documents and birth certs, marriage license, passports, etc in a go-bag in a safe. Including my ELEVEN yr old. Normal!

Now I’m like I won’t have a passport for 3-6 weeks. What if it’s longer?

My family—so, my wife, daughter, and I—go to Japan every year in Dec. This is the first year I’m thinking exceedingly strange thoughts: will the FAA get it together; will Japan even allow it; what will re-entry be like; etc. I can tell you that this early Jan, Immigration were PRICKS at LAX.
