Dems aren’t even ’pushing a bill’ as much as they are’ countering Republican attacks on border security by highlighting the fact that Trump literally prevented an aggressive border bill from being signed into law’.
Everybody knew Rs wouldn’t let Dems sign a border security law in an election year.
So they're just continuing to feed into the demonization of immigrants (or have you forgotten Biden's SOTU so quickly) and pushing a bill they don't believe in to score points?
And they keep pushing it because they don't want to pass it.
I don’t have any more love for the Democratic position on immigration than I do for their position on Gaza, I’m saying that politicians are going to do politics and that if President Kamala Harris has a Democratic Senate and House I guarantee they won’t be passing that bill.
That is certainly the concern, and perhaps I’ll be proven foolish for trusting the base and activist community to keep them in line. I hope not but obviously can’t control that. All I know is that whatever their position is, it is to the left of ‘deport every illegal immigrant’.
I agree, which is why, as I have stated, I will be voting for her.
Sure would be nice if the Dems didn't respond to the rising fascist threat by sending Walz out there to talk about how much he agrees with them and how he knows that Vance really wants what's best for the country.

The bill would directly increase the standard for seeking asylum. The intent and the effect of that are to make it harder to do so.
I think a traffic law that was intentionally structured to make it more difficult to drive could do so, sure. Do you not?

Got it.
