Last year I had to talk with someone at SSA. I was fortunate, with only about a 2-hour hold on the phone. Then I was told that my issue would need to be addressed by my local office, who would contact me. They did so 2 MONTHS LATER. 2 MONTHS.

And somewhere along the lines, people believed that all governments are inept and that the private sector does everything better.

And it's just simply not the case. The government has it's issues, but private companies don't often give a shit about you they just care about making a profit.
