You really don't actually shed much. But all that loose hair is in there, and you feel so much better when it's out. When July and August are here, you'll be much happier. Give Mom a lick of thanks. She'll be motivated to do it again sometime. Hand stripping is much nicer than a cut.

Hurt my claw a while ago; it's growing back, but the hoos keep it covered if they think I'm likely to hurt it more... Like with post-grooming zoomies!
