One of the failures of the mainstream MeToo messaging was a very “white feminist” flavored emphasis on women victims of male perpetrators.

I was doing advocacy work at the time and witnessed firsthand how this narrative unfortunately increased the isolation and silence of many male survivors.

True, but in the same token, Tate gets a hero's welcome from the president's personal attorney. Tate gets heralded when he comes back to the United States by Dana White, who is, again, buddies with the president and himself slapped his wife.

I agree. MeToo at its core was about accountability. The fact Tate faces pending charges is I think a sign of that. So I agree with you there.

Keep in mind that we couldn't talk openly about this stuff before. It's still risky to do it now, but at least it's better when Courtney Love dropped a hint on the red carpet about something industry women knew for years & found herself entirely without acting roles.

Oh, for sure. People also talked about Kevin Spacey mostly through jokes. There are now mechanisms in place that came because of #MeToo
