No room in my tent for people who'd kick my child out to die

SCOOP: Sarah McBride and other Dems have discussed how the party must accept Ds with differing stances on trans rights to not alienate people
“We have to create more space in our tent,” she told me

But just a bit too small to protect your child.
IMO, the fact that McBride feels she has to take this position to exist in that space is an indictment of Democrats, not her.
But yes, you absolutely should judge the Democrats and boycott them for forcing her to do this simply to exist among them.
Have a little self respect. (You and her)
I am boycotting Dems until my trans kid tells me that they have earned their trust. My boycott would include McBride, if I lived in her district.
I don't judge McBride, because individual actions like hers are the result of institutions, like the Party.
My fight is with the institutions.
Judge her ass. She has power and she’s refusing to use it.
I vote in solidarity with my kid from now on, forever.
Because I am in solidarity with my kid. Period.
The "pretense of civilization" is indeed a pretense if anyone thinks it requires letting the right wing murder my kid or any of their friends.
Here is my advice to you in your call for solidarity: I am a cis straight white man. You do not have to convince me, because I am not in danger from the Nazis yet.
My kid is.
Again, I am not the one you have to convince.
I’m not being hard line, im fighting for people’s lives. That shouldn’t be negotiable.
We’re living an outcome that is maximally disadvantageous for trans people, right now, because of centrist bullshit politics.
