As much as the saga has been painful, I will say that it's just a couple at the top that have been the one's egging this on. There's a lot of good people in the community that just happen to be part of one or the other or even both organizations.

I generally agree. WaterWolf and Furality both have very passionate volunteers pouring their heart into their work who are good people.

But what the community sees, and who Isaac protects, are folks like TechSane and Purriku in leadership positions, and others in the group with toxic beliefs.

The reason I refer to the problem as WaterWolf on the whole is because of the "Nazi Bar problem"...it doesn't matter if it's a few bad apples, if they're given safe haven (or worse, positions of influence) by those in charge, the space that results isn't a safe one for anyone really but the Nazis.

I really hate that it has to be this way. There's a lot to like about WaterWolf's desire for a highly agile, open-source community. It's appealing, but the nearly-daily "we're a family" posts are a facade. The culture is caustic, fueled by bad actors who the co-founder sympathizes with and protects.

The furry VR club scene is already pretty bad at keeping a safe space for marginalized groups, but WaterWolf has come out repeatedly as having contempt for people with special needs. It bothers me how often I see their logo popping up at events and in worlds. Their influence is not a force of good.

I tried to push sometimes to make Quest compatible versions, like once, don't need to be fully compat with the PC one, but always had a no as a answer, and this always made me hard to recommend Waterwolf events to my friends that don't have access to a PC or even Cloud PCs

It may very well be that WaterWolf has a point about Furality being a more "corporate" culture, but so what? What I care about is: are the folks putting this event together decent human beings? Do they have empathy? Do they try to do better each time?

I don't think WaterWolf clears those hurdles.

About Furality being too corporate is more growing pains we don't know better, we're trying things, some work, some don't, we expect to be more open in the future and test new ways of doing stuff, closed-off I don't know much, people even know Furality finances more than itself by this point

This is why they have basically no presence here. They'd rather pay the fascist every month to get a blue badge on what is now basically a MAGA platform.

Him, Techsane and Purriku are the big three and they essentially run a damn cult. I’ve had problems with them for years and nobody believed me that they were all equally pieces of shit until today. I hate all of them and everything they stand for with their stolen logo

Yeah...every time I speak up about this, I see more and more people who were hurt by that same group, who don't want to speak up for fear of rocking the boat or not being invited to events anymore. Those three have even threatened people with being ostracized, like they're VR mob bosses.
